Queensland State Planning Policy for Healthy Waters
Client: Department of Environment and Resource Management
Since 2008, the Queensland State Government has been planning and establishing the State Planning Policy for Healthy Waters. The policy was released in May 2011 and required an extensive roll out of information sessions and training to the local government, development and consulting industry. Shaun Leinster assisted DERM and Water by Design deliver these sessions throughout Queensland. His close involvement in development of the stormwater objectives, authoring of the business for DERM and detailed understanding of water sensitive urban design implementation was an important part of the information sessions.

The policy is not stagnant. It will be updated and refined from time to time based on feedback from everyone involved in its implementation. DesignFlow are actively involved in providing feedback on the policy as well as discussion implementation issues with the industry.
