Water harvesting and reuse
Waterproofing the East, SA
Client: Eastern Region Alliance
This project follows on from a feasibility study we completed with engineers Wallbridge and Gilbert for the eastern region of Adelaide (for a consortium of five councils and the Natural Resources Management Board). DesignFlow are now designing the treatment measures (wetlands and biofilters) as part of the W&G team. The treatment sites are all within public parks and therefore community engagement and landscape considerations are paramount.
The four treatment sites will harvest approximately 400-500ML each year and treated stormwater will then be stored in underground aquifers and subsequently reticulated to council reserves for irrigation through approximately 40 Km of dedicated pipelines.
